Kota city is located in the Rajasthan, the
northern state of India. Earlier, Kota was known as Kotah.
It is located on the banks of Chambal river. Kota serves as
trade center for the areas where cotton, millet, wheat,
coriander and oilseeds are grown. It is quite famous for its
unique style of paintings and saris, stone products and a
vibrant education sector. There are number of coaching
centers which prepare the students for top-notch engineering
and medical institutes colleges. These coaching centers have
made Kota a notable city. The Crosthwaite Institute is
located in Kota city of Rajasthan. It is situated on the
eastern bank of the Chambal river in the south of Rajasthan.
Kota is located on the average elevation of 271m(889 ft.)
and stretched over an area of about 12,436 km2. This
district is confined by Sawai Madhopur, Tonk and Bundi
districts on the north and north west. These districts are
separated by the chambal river from the Kota district and
forms the natural borderline. Kota is located 454 km from
Delhi and 256 km from Jaipur. This district has tropical
climate because it is quite near to the proximity to the
tropic of cancer and it results in excess heat during summer
season. It is just mild cold during winters. The summer
season stays from April to late October. In daytime, the
average temperature is around 42.6oC during summers and
varies between 29.7 oC(max.) to 9 oC(min.). The recorded
average rainfall is 885.6mm in the Kota district. The rain
is attributed to southwest monsoon here and it usually
starts around the last week of June till the mid of
September. One can exerience scanty rainfall in the winter
season. One can enjoy boat safari on the Chambal river and
see crocodiles at close places. This safari starts from
Chambal Garden. Spicy Kachori/Samosa can be eaten available
here in abundance here. Rajasthani Daal-Baati-Churma is a
must-eat food here.
